Agent Spotlight: Craig Rogers

The Platinum Group, REALTORS has brought together the top real estate agents in Colorado Springs to bring you Platinum Service for Platinum Results. Our REALTORS have some of the best qualifications, so you can be sure you’re taken care of whether you’re buying or selling. Craig Rogers, one of The Platinum Group real estate agents, has gone above and beyond to make sure he is able to give you the best service possible. Learn more about Craig in this week’s blog!

Craig has lived in Kissing Camels or Cathedral Ridge for the past 22 years. When he was first introduced to the Garden of the Gods Club and Kissing Camels as a teenager, he knew that it was the neighborhood and club that he wanted to be a part of long-term. In 1996, Craig built a home near the main gate of Kissing Camels Estates, and in recent years, he moved to a home in Cathedral Ridge. Having been fortunate enough to be a part of the community for over two decades, Craig has no plans of going anywhere else. He is a firm believer that when you find home, you know it … and you stay.

Being with The Platinum Group Realtors for the past 12 years has been a blessing for Craig professionally. The Platinum Group is a family-oriented group of accomplished realtors that support, not compete with, one another. Craig says he is privileged to have a qualified, full-time administrative assistant (Deanna Nothstein) with a legal background. The amount of real estate knowledge in the group is exceptional. Craig feels that he is fortunate to be a part of this professional organization.

Craig Rogers values and truly cares about his clients. Since 85% of his real estate business comes from past-client referrals, Craig’s business model is about as simple as it gets. Provide high-level personalized service to the people that are naturally referred to him and the rest will take care of itself. Craig has found that serving his clients well is more effective than any advertising program he could employ. Craig loves serving the Kissing Camels community and the wonderful members of the Garden of the Gods Club.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Norman, Craig had the good fortune of his family moving to Manitou Springs when he was 14. A nearly empty nest allowed for a smooth transition for his family to relocate for his high school years. Craig has five brothers and a sister but they were well on their way in life when they landed in Colorado. Craig’s family is another form of the Brady Bunch with both mother and father having had two children each before losing their spouses, one in a tragic auto accident on Route 66. After his parents’ first date at a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game, they later married and had two more children of their own. Craig is the youngest, by eight years, of all six children in the family.

Although not a native of the Springs, Craig has lived on the west side for over 40 years. A graduate of Manitou Springs High School, he was blessed to have been awarded the Boettcher Foundation Scholarship which allowed him to attend Colorado College. Four years of focused work earned him a BA in Business/Economics and his teaching and coaching certificates.

Tennis and basketball have been an integral part of Craig’s life. He was the former head tennis professional at Garden of the Gods Club from 1998-2005. He formerly served as the head girls’ varsity tennis coach at Coronado High School for three years and is currently an assistant coach for Coronado boys’ varsity team. Previously, Craig coached two years of high school basketball, as well as being an assistant coach at Colorado College for three years.

Craig’s son, Ashton (18), is a native of the Springs area and is a senior at Coronado High School. He has a 4.6 grade-point average and is a varsity letterman on both the tennis and basketball teams. Ashton played either #1 or #2 singles all four years in tennis and has started on the varsity basketball team the past three years. He hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and play collegiate basketball. Several smaller schools are recruiting him for basketball and tennis.

Craig understands that there are a number of choices when selecting a realtor, particularly in Kissing Camels. He believes in the “Right House, Right Time, Right Price” concept and goes out of his way to provide that for each of his clients. His success is evidenced by numerous accomplishments, including Best of the Gazette, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and Peak Producers, the top group of realtors in the Pikes Peak region. But Craig prefers to measure his success by the quality relationships he has established and the satisfaction of the customers he serves.

Craig very much enjoys being a member of the Garden of the Gods Club and has since 1989. Between being a full-time realtor and single father, there is not much time for anything else, but he still enjoys a good tennis match or an occasional golf outing, not to mention a fabulous meal at the Club.

And most importantly, Craig’s faith is the foundation of his life. Being a father has taught him much about the unconditional love that his faith is founded upon. And serving his clients is not far behind. Craig is astute, honest and caring, and it shows in how he treats his clients. Going forward, he strives to continue to be a loving father, an exceptional realtor, and a grateful member of this extraordinary community.
